My watercolor painting starts with the observation of the beauty that is all around us: the effects of light, shadow and color as they play on nature. The creative process follows with the acts of composing and expressing using a variety of brushwork.
This watercolor painting; Still Life in Autumn Light by HeeJune Shin was accepted at the 97th Annual Fine Arts Exhibition at the Minnesota State Fair. The State Fine Arts show is one of most competitive shows for the artists of all medium in the state. In 2007, only 372 pieces were accepted out of a total of 2284 works.
